Description of product typologies
Vignanello PDO Bianco is straw-yellow, varying in intensity and with light greenish reflections; the nose is characterised by fragrances of white flowers, pear, hay and a fresh mineral bouquet; it is dynamic on the palate, with herby undertones and good persistence. It can display Superiore on the label. Vignanello PDO Rosso is vivid ruby red, tending towards garnet red with ageing; the nose is embellished with balsamic traces of red fruit and violet; the sensations of the nose return on the palate, accompanied by an embracing tannic structure. It can display Riserva on the label if the wine has been aged for a minimum period of 2 years, commencing November 10th of the year in which the grapes were harvested. It can also be produced as Novello, which has the same organoleptic properties as the red wine. Vignanello PDO Vendemmia Tardiva varies from straw-yellow to golden yellow; the nose reveals a melody of fruity and floral fragrances, including warm, intense notes of honey, peach jam and dried fruit; it is embracing and sweet on the palate, with rounded aromas of sun-dried grapes. Vignanello PDO wines with specification of grape variety have the organoleptic properties that are typical of the grapes and terroir of origin. Vignanello Bianco, Vignanello Superiore Bianco and Vignanello Vendemmia Tardiva PDO wines can also reveal a hint of wood if they have been stored in wooden recipients.
