The Vesuvio PDO is reserved for the following types of wine: White, Red, Rosé, Spumante, Rosè Spumante, White Lacryma Christi, Red Lacryma Christi, Rosé Lacryma Christi, Lacryma Christi White Spumante, Lacryma Christi White Passito and Lacryma Christi White Liqueur. The designation also incorporates numerous grape variety specifications.
Production Area
The production area of Vesuvio PDO is within the entire territory of the municipalities of Boscotrecase, Trecase and San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, and parts of the municipalities of Ottaviano, San Giuseppe Vesuviano, Terzigno, Boscoreale, Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco, Ercolano, Portici, Cercola, Pollena Trocchia, Sant’Anastasia and Somma Vesuviana, in the Province of Naples, in the Campania region.

Vesuvio PDO Rosato is pink, varying in intensity; the nose is pleasant, offering rich hints of raspberry, blackberry, violet and rose; it is dry and fruity on the palate, with a delicate finish revealing embracing notes of rose jam. Vesuvio PDO Spumante Rosé is pink, varying in intensity; the nose is delicate and fruity; it is dry and harmonious on the palate.
