Production Area

Description of product typologies
Vermentino di Sardegna PDO Bianco is straw-yellow, at times with greenish reflections; the nose is delicate and persistent, with an appley fruitiness and intense notes of flowers and freshly-cut grass; it has a characteristic fruity flavour, with faint hints of white flowers and a delicate bitter aftertaste. It can also be produced as semi-sparkling wine. Vermentino di Sardegna PDO Spumante is straw-yellow, varying in liveliness, and has intense, fine and persistent foam; the nose is pleasing, with delicate hints of Mediterranean scrub, salty notes and aromatic hints of white fleshy fruit; it ranges from brut natural to demi-sec on the palate, offering a sapid, fresh flavour with evident heady sea aromas. The vinification and bottling processes of Vermentino di Sardegna PDO wines must be carried out within the production area; however, notwithstanding the existing provisions, the production and bottling processes of Vermentino di Sardegna PDO Spumante and Semi-Sparkling wines can take place outside of the Sardinia region.
