Grape variety specifications
The Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO may display the following grape variety specifications. From white grape varieties (incl. Superiore): min. 85% Pinot Grigio, pure or with the addition of similarly-coloured unaromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. From red grape varieties (incl. Riserva): min. 85% Enantio, Casetta, pure or with the addition of similarly-coloured unaromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO Enantio has an extremely intense ruby-red colour with garnet reflectionsif aged; the nose is decisive, fine and particular, with balsamic sensations that blend into a background of ripe red fruit; it is very well-structured on the palate, with sapidity and evident tannins. It can display Riserva on the label. Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO Casetta has an intense ruby-red colour with garnet reflectionsif aged; the nose displays a strong character that is distinguished by fragrances of prune and marasca, with cinnamon, tobacco and notes of Lily of the Valley emerging with age; the sensations of the nose return on the palate, amplifying the structure and offering a long and persistent finish. It can display Riserva on the label. Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO Pinot Grigio has a straw-yellow colour that at times can tend towards coppery; the nose is pleasantly fruity with notes of white flowers and vanilla; it is dry, harmonious and minimal on the palate, with good aromatic persistence. It can display Superiore on the label. Before being released for consumption, Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO wines must be aged for a certain period of time: 10 months for Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO Enantio and Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO Casetta wines and 36 months for those that qualify as Riserva; four months for Valdadige Terradeiforti PDO or Terradeiforti PDO Pinot Grigio wines and 10 months for those that qualify as Superiore. The ageing period for all types commences November 1st of the year in which the grapes were harvested.
