Description of product typologies
Val di Neto PGI Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is straw-yellow; the nose offers floral sensations of broom, chamomile and white fleshy fruit; it is fresh, smooth and sapid on the palate, with medium structure. It can also be produced as semi-sparkling wine. Val di Neto PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is red; fragrances of strawberry and pomegranate stand out on the nose, together with minerally and grassy notes; it is dry and fresh on the palate, with lively tannins and good persistence. It can also be produced as semi-sparkling wine. Val di Neto PGI Rosato, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink, varying in intensity; the nose reveals hints of strawberry and rose, minerally tones and aromatic herbs; it is full, fresh and sapid on the palate. It can also be produced as semi-sparkling wine. Val di Neto PGI Passito Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is deep straw-yellow; the nose offers intense and characteristic fragrances; it is delicate and sweet on the palate. Val di Neto PGI Passito Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is deep red; the nose is intense with fragrances of red fleshy fruit; it is sweet, embracing and balanced on the palate. Val di Neto PGI Novello, alone or with specification of grape variety, is deep red; the nose is intense and pleasant; it is smooth and harmonious on the palate.
Grape variety specifications
The Val di Neto PGI with the specification of one of the grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Calabria region, is reserved for wines obtained from grapes originating from vineyards on the producer’s land made up of at least 85% of the corresponding varieties. A maximum of 15% of similarly-coloured unaromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Calabria region can be used, pure or combined, to produce the above-mentioned musts and wines. Val di Neto PGI wines with specification of grape variety must display the organoleptic properties of the specified grape variety, as well as the specific characteristics indicated for wines of the same colour.
