The production area of Tintilia del Molise PDO is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the provinces of Campobasso and Isernia, in the Molise region.
Description of product typologies
Tintilia del Molise PDO Rosso is intense, vivid ruby red with purplish reflections; the nose is vinous, intense, pleasant and characteristic, offering spicy notes; it is dry, harmonious, smooth and characteristic on the palate. It can display Riserva on the label if the wine has been aged for a mandatory period of 2 years, commencing November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced. Tintilia del Molise PDO Rosato is pink, varying in intensity; the nose is delicate, displaying fruity notes; it is dry, fresh, harmonious and fruity on the palate. The vinification and ageing processes of Tintilia del Molise Protected Designation of Origin wines must take place within the production area. These operations can also be carried out within the territory of the neighboring municipalities of Campomarino and Termoli, in the province of Campobasso.
