Production Area
The production area of Terre Alfieri PDO is within the entire territory of the municipalities of Antignan, Celle Enomondo, Cisterna d’Asti, Revigliasco, San Damiano, San Martino Alfieri and Tigliole in the Province of Asti, and parts of the municipalities of Castellinaldo, Govone, Magliano Alfieri and Priocca in the Province of Cuneo, in the Piedmont region.

Grape variety specifications
The Terre Alfieri PDO may display the following grape variety specifications. From white grape varieties: min. 85% Arneis, pure or with the addition of similarly-coloured unaromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. From red grape varieties: min. 85% Nebbiolo, pure or with the addition of similarly-coloured unaromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. Terre Alfieri PDO Arneis is straw-yellow with golden reflections; the nose bursts with sensations of delicate floral fragrances in harmony with hints of dried fruit and light vanilla; it is intense on the palate, reminiscent of white fleshy fruit and with a light almondy tone. It can display Superiore on the label. Terre Alfieri PDO Nebbiolo is a characteristic ruby-red colour, tending towards garnet red with ageing; the nose offers an intense fragrance of small berries, ranging from raspberry to blackberry; it is dry and balanced on the palate, enriched with sensations of liquorice and pepper. It can display Superiore and Riserva on the label. Terre Alfieri PDO wines must be aged for a mandatory period of at least 4 months, with the option of using wooden recipients; the ageing period commences November 1st of the year in which the grapes were harvested.
