Description of product typologies
Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Bianco has a yellow colour, varying in intensity; the nose offers fragrances of ripe yellow peach and aromas of green apple, lemongrass and freshly roasted almonds; it is smooth on the palate, offering fresh and sapid sensations. It can also be produced as Semi-Sparkling wine. Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Rosso has a ruby-red colour that often tends towards garnet; the nose displays sensations of mulberry, violet ripe fruits of the forest and juniper berries; it is sapid on the palate, balanced with silky tannins, and has a long and fruity finish. It can also be produced as Semi-Sparkling wine. Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Rosé is pink in colour; the nose reveals delicate fragrances of fresh violet and wild strawberry, with a slightly grassy hint; it is fresh, balanced, smooth and fruity on the palate. Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Passito Bianco has a mottled yellow colour with gold veins; the nose offers intense fragrances of ripe fruit and has good persistence; it is balanced and harmonious on the palate, with a long and persistent finish. Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Passito Rosso is garnet-red in colour; the nose is intense with small red fruit, ripe cherry and blackberry; the intense fruitiness of the nose returns on the palate, although the wine remains well-balanced and has a persistent finish. Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Novello has a strong red colour; the nose is delicate and fruity; it is harmonious and fresh on the palate, with a fruity finish.Grapes destined for the production of Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Passito wines must be dried on the vines or after harvesting on trellises in suitable environments; thermal hydro-conditioned environments with forced air are also permitted. Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Passito Bianco and Terrazze dell’Imperiese PGI Passito Rosso wines cannot be released for consumption before December 1st of the year following that of the grape harvest.
