Production Area
The production area of Soave Superiore PDO is within the entire territory or parts of the municipalities of Soave, Monteforte d’Alpone, San Martino Buon Albergo, Mezzane di Sotto, Roncà, Montecchia di Crosara, San Giovanni Ilarione, Cazzano di Tramigna, Colognola ai Colli, Caldiero, Illasi and Lavagno in the Province of Verona, in the Veneto region.
Description of product typologies
Soave Superiore PDO is straw-yellow, at times intense and with green and gold reflections; the nose reveals evident sensations of cedar, bergamot and Chinese mandarins, with hints of lavender and elderberry on decisive salty notes; it is smooth and sapid on the palate, with a long and slightly almondy finish. It can display Classico and Riserva on the label. Soave Superiore PDO and Soave Superiore PDO Classico wines cannot be released for consumption before April 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced. Soave Superiore PDO Riserva wines can be released for consumption from November 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced. Grapes destined for the vinification of Soave Superiore PDO wines must ensure a minimum natural alcohol level of 11% vol.

Soave Superiore PDO and Soave Superiore PDO Classico wines may refer to 33 additional smaller geographical units located within the same production area, provided that the product is vinified separately and specifically declared in the annual grape production report.
