The production area of Serrapetrona PDO is within the entire territory of the Municipality of Serrapetrona and parts of the municipalities of Bel Forte del Chienti and San Severino Marche in the Province of Macerata, in The Marches region.
Description of product typologies
Serrapetrona PDO is ruby-red in colour, varying in intensity; the nose opens with notes of black cherry, which blend together with hints of brushwood reminiscent of wild strawberry and blueberry, finishing with strong notes of broom and bay leaf; the palate displays balance between tannic structure, sapidity and acidity. Serrapetrona PDO wine must have been aged for a minimum period of 10 months, commencing December 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced. When Serrapetrona PDO wine is preserved in wooden recipients there is the possibility of woody hints on tasting.
