The production area of Scavigna PDO is within the territory of the municipalities of Nocera Terinese and Falerna in the Province of Catanzaro, in the Calabria region.
Description of product typologies
Scavigna PDO Bianco is white with greenish-yellow reflections; the nose offers sensations of white flowers like hawthorn and jasmine, with fruity notes of white peach and green apple accompanied by aromatic vegetal notes of Mediterranean herbs and minerals; it is dry, full, harmonious and pleasantly fruity on the palate. Scavigna PDO Rosso is ruby-red, varying in intensity; the nose displays floral fragrances intertwined with notes of cherry and blackberry, followed by notes of cocoa and sweet spices; it is dry, robust and harmonious on the palate. Scavigna PDO Rosato is various hues of pink, varying in intensity; the nose is delicate with extremely fresh fruity notes; it is fresh, harmonious and elegant on the palate, with a sapid finish dense with fruit. Scavigna PDO Bianco, Scavigna PDO Rosso and Scavigna PDO Rosato wines cannot be released for consumption before January 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced.
