The production area of San Ginesio PDO is within the territory of the municipalities of San Ginesio, Caldarola, Camporotondo di Fiastrone, Cessapalombo, Ripe San Ginesio, Gualdo, Colmurano, Sant’Angelo in Pontano and Loro Piceno in the Province of Macerata, in The Marches region.
Description of product typologies
San Ginesio PDO Rosso has an intense red colour; the nose offers a rich fruitiness of red fruit, cherry and spicy notes, especially pepper; it is full, persistent, well-balanced and moderately tannic on the palate. San Ginesio PDO Spumante Rosso has a ruby-red colour with purple and garnet reflectionsand persistent, fine-grained foam; the characteristic and fruity nose is reminiscent of ripe red fruit, marmalade and dried flowers; the palate displays light tannins and a pleasantly bitter background. It can also be produced as Dry or Sweet wine.
