The production area of Rosso Orvietano PDO or Orvietano Rosso PDO is within the entire territory of the municipalities of Allerona, Alviano, Baschi, Castel Giorgio, Castel Viscardo, Fabro, Ficulle, Guardea, Montecchio, Montegabbione, Monteleone d’Orvieto, Orvieto, Porano and S. Venanzo in the Province of Terni, in the Umbria region.

Rosso Orvietano PDO or Orvietano Rosso PDO is an intense and vivacious ruby red colour, at times with purple reflections; the nose offers evident floral fragrances of pansy and rose, with fruity notes of blackberry and raspberry; it is fresh and balanced on the palate, offering strong fruity hints. Rosso Orvietano PDO or Orvietano Rosso PDO wines can also undergo a period of ageing in wood.

The characteristics of the colour, fragrances and flavour of each specification are those typical of the grape variety and terroir of origin.
