Description of product typologies
Orta Nova PDO Rosso is ruby-red in colour with purple highlights, tending slightly towards garnet with ageing; the nose displays sensations of ripe red fruit, particularly cherry and blackberry, and is enriched with liquorice, leather, chocolate and spices; it is full, warm and full-bodied on the palate, with smooth tannins and a long, persistent fruity finish. Orta Nova PDO Rosé is pink to cherry-red in colour; the nose bursts with aromas of flowers and fresh fruit, with slightly balsamic notes; it is fresh on the palate, with delicate sapidity and a finish full of fresh fruit and flower petals. The vinification processes of Orta Nova PDO wines must take place within the production area; however, taking traditional circumstances into consideration, these operations may be carried out throughout the entire territory of the municipalities, even if only parts are within the production area.
