Description of product typologies
Moscadello di Montalcino PDO Tranquillo is straw-yellow; the nose is fresh, delicate and persistent, with the typical aroma of the Moscato Bianco grape; it is sweet and harmonious on the palate. Moscadello di Montalcino PDO Frizzante is soft straw-yellow and has fine, lively foam; the nose is fresh, delicate and persistent, with the typical aroma of the Moscato Bianco grape; it is sweet and harmonious on the palate. Moscadello di Montalcino PDO Frizzante wines must be obtained exclusively through natural fermentation. Moscadello di Montalcino PDO Vendemmia Tardiva varies from straw-yellow to golden-yellow; the range of aromas on the nose are rich with floral notes and hints reminiscent of dried fruit; it dry, fresh and velvety on the palate. Moscadello di Montalcino PDO Vendemmia Tardiva wines must be matured for at least one year, commencing January 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced. The wine cannot be released for consumption before January 1st of the second year following that in which the grapes were harvested. During the maturing process, the wine can undergo slow fermentation, which is slower during the winter months.

Moscadello di Montalcino PDO Frizzante and Moscadello di Montalcino PDO Vendemmia Tardiva wines must always display the relative specifications “Frizzante” and “Vendemmia Tardiva” on the label.
