The production area of Montecompatri Colonna PDO or Colonna PDO or Montecompatri PDO is within the entire territory of the municipality of Colonna and parts of Montecompatri, Zagarolo and Roccapriora, in the Province of Rome, in the Lazio region.
Description of product typologies
Montecompatri Colonna PDO or Colonna PDO or Montecompatri PDO is straw-yellow, at times with greenish reflections; the nose displays evident hints of flowers and exotic fruit, enriched by aromatic herbs; it is intense and embracing on the palate, maintaining the fruity sensations of the nose and developing a long persistence. It can also be produced as a semi-Sweet, sweet or semi-sparkling wine (the latter only semi-sweet or sweet) and can display Superiore on the label (including semi-sweet and sweet wines). Montecompatri Colonna PDO or Colonna PDO or Montecompatri PDO Frizzante wines can only be released for consumption if as a semi-sweet or sweet wine. The vinification processes must take place within the production area.
