Production Area
The production area of Lipuda PGI is within the territory of the municipalities of Carfizzi, Casabona, Cirò, Cirò Marina, Crucoli, Melissa, Strangoli and Umbriatico in the Province of Crotone, in the Calabria region.
Description of product typologies
Lipuda PGI Bianco is straw-yellow in colour with golden reflectionsin more evolved wines; the nose offers varying degrees of floral and fruity fragrances depending on the different grape varieties used; it is dry, fresh and sapid on the palate, with a slightly fruity flavour and good persistence. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Lipuda PGI Rosso is intense ruby-red in colour; the nose is delicate, with characteristic fragrances of red fruit, traces of spices and aromatic complexity deriving from the grape varieties used; it is dry and sapid on the palate, with good body, at times evident tannins and a persistent finish. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Lipuda PGI Rosé is pink in colour, varying in intensity; it displays delicate fruity fragrances and is vaguely salty; it is dry, harmonious and fresh on the palate, with the characteristics of the grape variety of origin. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Lipuda PGI Novello is red in colour, varying in intensity; the nose bursts with complex fruity fragrances; it is harmonious on the palate, with the typical flavour of a young wine.
