Production Area
The production area of Genazzano PDO is within the entire territory of the municipality of Genazzano and parts of the municipalities of Olevano Romano, San Vito Romano and Cave, in the Province of Rome, and the municipality of Paliano in the Province of Frosinone, in the Lazio region.
Description of product typologies
Genazzano PDO Bianco is straw-yellow with greenish reflections; the nose is extremely varietal, with notes of aromatic herbs, cedar and moss; the minerality is consistent on the palate, accompanied by sapidity and pleasant freshness. Genazzano PDO Rosso is a bright, vivid ruby-red colour that is moderately intense; the hints of marasca and vanilla on the nose are supported by an aroma of pansies; it is smooth and elegant on the palate, with a sweet finish. The vinification processes must take place within the production area.
