Galluccio PDO Rosso is dark ruby red, tending toward garnet red with ageing; the nose alternates between fruity sensations of marasca cherry, sweet spices and pansies; the warm, smooth notes on the palate blend with sweet tannins, leading to a persistent finish reminiscent of red fruit. It can display Riserva on the label. Galluccio PDO Rosso cannot be released for consumption before June 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced.
