Description of product typologies
Gabiano PDO is intense ruby red with crimson reflections, tending towards garnet red with ageing; the impact on the nose is fruity with predominant aromas of small red berries, which make way to hints of liquorice and mild spices, as well as tobacco, leather and diffused minerality; it is perfectly balanced on the palate, with well-balanced alcohol and acidity blending harmoniously with an elegant tannic vein that is prelude to a long, persistent finish. It can display Riserva on the label if the wine has undergone a minimum ageing period of two years, commencing January 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced. Grapes destined for the vinification of Gabiano PDO wines must ensure a minimum natural alcohol level of 12% vol. and 12.5% vol. for Riserva wines.
