Freisa di Chieri PDO Secco is ruby-red in colour, tending towards garnet; the nose offers delicate fragrances of rose and pansy and is fruity with raspberry and fruits of the forest; it is fresh and slightly fruity on the palate, with floral hints that become more delicate with ageing. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine and may display Superiore on the label when it has undergone a minimum ageing period of 12 months, commencing November 1st of the year in which the grapes were harvested. A minimum of 6 months ageing in wood is permitted.Freisa di Chieri PDO Spumante varies from ruby to fairly pale cherry-red in colour, and has an elegant and persistent perlage; the nose is characteristic with fruity and floral notes of raspberry, rose and pansy; it is harmonious and elegant on the palate, with a fluffy citron after-taste, and can be brut, dry or sweet.Freisa di Chieri PDO Dolce varies from ruby to fairly pale cherry-red in colour, at times with light purple highlights; the nose is characteristic and delicate with fruity and floral notes of raspberry, rose and pansy; it is sweet and fresh on the palate, at times lively.
