Production Area
The production area of Cònero PDO is within the entire territory of the municipalities of Ancona, Offagna, Camerano, Sirolo, Numana and parts of Castelfidardo and Osimo in the Province of Ancona, in The Marches region.
Description of product typologies
Cònero PDO is ruby red with purplish reflections; the nose displays typical hints of wild cherry, berries, liquorice, leather and tobacco; it is extremely fruity on the palate, rich with undertones and characterised by a long, persistent aftertaste with tannins and a fruity and spicy finish. It is mandatory for the wine to display Riserva on the label. The grapes destined for vinification must ensure that Cònero PDO wine has a minimum natural alcohol level of 12% vol. Before being released for consumption, Cònero PDO must have undergone an ageing period of at least two years, commencing November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced.
