Description of product typologies
Colline Savonesi PGI Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is straw-yellow, varying in depth; in the more structured wines, the floral and fruity notes are accompanied by sweet, smooth sensations; it is fruity on the palate, creating a sensation of freshness and sapidity. It can also be a semi-sparkling wine. Colline Savonesi PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby red, varying in intensity; the nose offers traces of red fruit, supported by hints of delicate flowers; it is fresh and full-bodied on the palate, with fruity undertones. It can also be a semi-sparkling wine. Colline Savonesi PGI Rosato, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink; it displays delicate fragrances of fresh fruit and aromatic herbs; it is dry, harmonious and fresh on the palate. Colline Savonesi PGI Passito, alone or with specification of grape variety, is golden yellow; it displays intense floral and fruity notes on the nose and is fairly persistent; the palate is balanced with a persistent aftertaste. Colline Savonesi PGI Novello, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby red, varying in depth; the nose is intensely vinous; it is fresh and balanced on the palate.
Grape variety specifications
The Colline Savonesi PGI with the specification of one of the grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Liguria region, is reserved for wines obtained from grapes originating from vineyards on the producer’s land made up of at least 85% of the corresponding grape variety. A maximum of 15% of similarly-coloured unaromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area can be used, pure or combined, to produce the above-mentioned musts and wines. Colline Savonesi PGI wines specifying the Lumassina grape variety, also known as Buzzetto or Mataosso, can also be produced as semi-sparkling wines. Colline Savonesi PGI wines with specification of grape variety must display the organoleptic properties of the specified grape variety, as well as the specific characteristics indicated for wines of the same colour.
