The Colline Pescaresi PGI is reserved for the following types of wine: White, Red, Rosé, White Passito, Red Passito, Red Novello and Rosé Novello. The Indication also incorporates numerous grape variety specifications.

The production area of Colline Pescaresi PGI is within the territory of the Province of Pescara, in the Abruzzo region.
Description of product typologies
Colline Pescaresi PGI Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is straw-yellow, varying in depth; in the more structured wines, the nose’s fruity and floral notes are accompanied by buttery and sweet sensations; it is predominantly sapid and fresh on the palate. It can also be a semi-sparkling wine. Colline Pescaresi PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby red, varying in intensity; the nose offers traces of berries, supported by good minerality; it is fresh and structured on the palate, with fruity undertones. It can also be a semi-sparkling wine. Colline Pescaresi PGI Rosato, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink, varying in intensity; the nose displays delicate fragrances of fresh fruit and aromatic herbs; it is dry, harmonious and fresh on the palate. It can also be a semi-sparkling wine. Colline Pescaresi PGI Passito Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is yellow, tending towards amber with ageing; the nose is rich with intense fruity notes; it is dry and sapid on the palate, with the characteristics of the grape varieties used. Colline Pescaresi PGI Passito Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is red to garnet red, varying in intensity; the fragrances are intense and characteristic of the grape variety; it is harmonious, sweet and velvety on the palate. Colline Pescaresi PGI Novello Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby red with faint purplish reflections; the nose is rich with fruity notes; it is fresh and velvety on the palate. Colline Pescaresi PGI Novello Rosato, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink, varying in depth; the nose is delicately fruity; it is fresh and velvety on the palate, with intense notes of red fruit.
Grape variety specifications
The Colline Pescaresi PGI with the specification of one of the grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Abruzzo region, is reserved for wines obtained from grapes originating from vineyards on the producer’s land made up of at least 85% of the corresponding grape variety. A maximum of 15% of similarly-coloured grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area can be used, pure or combined, to produce the above-mentioned musts and wines. The Colline Pescaresi PGI with two grape variety specifications is reserved for wines obtained from grapes originating from vineyards on the producer’s land made up of the corresponding varieties, on the condition that the wine derives exclusively from grapes produced by the two specified varieties; the quantity of grapes produced by each of the two varieties must in any case be greater than 15% of the total and the grape variety specifications must appear on the label in descending order with respect to the actual percentage of grapes obtained from them. Colline Pescaresi PGI wines with specification of grape variety must display the organoleptic properties of the specified grape variety, as well as the specific characteristics indicated for wines of the same colour.
