Collina Torinese PDO Rosso is ruby red, varying in depth; the nose displays fruity fragrances of blueberry and blackberry, with hints of white pepper; it is fresh and fruity on the palate, with a slightly almondy finish. Collina Torinese PDO Novello Rosso is ruby red, varying in intensity; the nose reveals fruity and floral hints; it is dry and harmonious on the palate, with good aromatic consistency.
Grape variety specifications
The Collina Torinese PDO may display the following grape variety specifications. From red grape varieties: min. 85% Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia di Schierano and/or Malvasia Nera Lunga, Pelaverga or Cari, pure or with the addition of similarly-coloured unaromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. Collina Torinese PDO Barbera is intense ruby red and has a characteristic vinous aroma; it is dry, fresh, and harmonious on the palate, with good body. Collina Torinese PDO Bonarda is light ruby red; the nose is vinous and intense; it is dry and characteristic on the palate. Collina Torinese PDO Malvasia is cherry-red; it is fresh and fragrant on the nose; the flavour is sweet and slightly aromatic. Collina Torinese PDO Pelaverga or Cari is cherry-red; the nose offers fragrances of the grape of origin; it is sweet, pleasant and characteristic on the palate.
