The production area of Colli Albani PDO is within the territory of the municipalities of Ariccia and Albano and parts of Pomezia, Ardea, Castelgandolfo and Lanuvio in the Province of Rome, in the Lazio region.
Description of product typologies
Colli Albani PDO Bianco is straw to golden-yellow in colour; the nose suggests tones of peach flower, jasmine, exotic fruit and chamomile; a racy flavour chases fruity sensations on the palate. It can also be Spumante or Novello wine, with organoleptic properties similar to those of the base wine. It may display Superiore on the label.The vinification processes must be carried out with the production area and the elaboration processes of musts or wines destined for the production of Spumante must take place in locations situated within the Province of Rome. Colli Albani PDO Novello must be bottled by December 20th of the year in which the grapes were produced.
