The production area of Catalanesca del Monte Somma PGI is within the territory of the municipalities of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, Massa di Somma, Cercola, Pollena Trocchia, Sant’Anastasia, Somma Vesuviana, Ottaviano, San Giuseppe Vesuviano and Terzigno in the Province of Naples, in the Campania region.
Description of product typologies
Catalanesca del Monte Somma PGI Bianco wine is straw-yellow in colour; it offers intense floral and fruity fragrances on the nose; on the palate it is dry and fresh, with a slightly fruity flavour and extremely good persistence. Catalanesca del Monte Somma PGI Passito wine is golden yellow in colour and can vary in intensity; the nose is rich with fruity notes of ripe and dehydrated fruit, plum and honey, with vague hints of minerals and alcohol; it is sweet, aromatic and typically characteristic on the palate and has a pleasant persistent finish.
