The production area of Castel del Monte Rosso Riserva PDO is within the territory of the municipality of Minervino Murge, parts of the municipal territory of Andria, Corato, Trani, Ruvo, Terlizzi, Bitonto, Palo del Colle and Toritto, and the entire territory of the island of D’Ameli in the administrative municipality of Binetto, in the provinces of Barletta-Andria-Trani and Bari, in the Apulia region.

Castel del Monte Rosso Riserva PDO is a uniform ruby red colour; the nose bursts with notes of small jammy red fruit, spices, rhubarb, mint and leather; it is well-structured on the palate, with a background of significant tannins and freshness. Grapes destined for the vinification of Castel del Monte Rosso Riserva PDO must ensure a minimum natural alcohol level of 12% vol. Before being released for consumption, Castel del Monte Rosso Riserva PDO must have undergone a mandatory ageing period of at least 2 years, of which at least one year in wood, commencing November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced.
