The production area of Casorzo PDO or Malvasia di Casorzo PDO is within the territory of the municipality of Casorzo and parts of Grana, Grazzano, Badoglio in the Province of Asti; parts of the municipalities of Vignale Monferrato, Altavilla, Ottiglio and Olivola in the Province of Alessandria, in the Piedmont region.
Description of product typologies
Casorzo PDO Rosso or Malvasia di Casorzo PDO Rosso ranges from cherry-pink to ruby red; the nose is characterised by notes of rose petals and a fruitiness reminiscent of blueberry and small berries; the aromatic and fruity sensations become embracing on the palate. Casorzo PDO Spumante or Malvasia di Casorzo PDO Spumante is pink, varying in intensity, with a fine and persistent perlage; the nose displays aromatic fragrances of sun-bathed fruit; it is sweet, smooth and slightly aromatic on the palate. Casorzo PDO Passito or Malvasia di Casorzo PDO Passito is deep ruby red; the nose is intense, complex and characteristic; it is sweet, velvety and characteristic on the palate. Casorzo Passito PDO or Malvasia di Casorzo PDO Passito wines must be produced with grapes that have been dried on the vines.
