History
The origins of Budejovický MestAnský Var PGI go back to the 13th century, when King Premysl Otakar II founded the city of Ceské Budejovice, now capital of South Bohemia, and authorised the beer production. At the beginning of the 20th century some innovations in the beer processing method in the production area were introduced, which concerned both the bottom-fermentation brewing method and the use of modern machinery. The modern breweries haven't betrayed the original spirit of the antique traditional breweries, of which they may be considered deserving and proper heirs.
Gastronomy
The Budejovický MestAnský Var PGI should be kept in a fresh area, at a temperature from 8 to 12°C, far from direct light and heat. It is very tasty if it is consumed as a drink, at a temperature level of 6-9°C, or combined with typical dishes from the Czech tradition.
Marketing
The product is sold as Budejovický MestAnskýVar PGI. It is sold also in the following varieties: B.B Budweiser Bier Original lager, with an alcohol content of 5,00%; 1795, with an alcohol content of 4,70%; and Samson Budweiser Bier Premium lager, with an alcohol content of 4,70%. The product is sold in bottles of 0,5 l or 0,33 l.
