The production area of Botticino PDO is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the Province of Brescia, in the Lombardy region.
Description of product typologies
Botticino PDO is deep ruby red with garnet reflections; the nose bursts with intense fragrances of fruit, marasca cherry and blackcurrant; it is dry and sapid on the palate, with the fruity undertones and spicy notes of pepper. It can display Riserva on the label if it has undergone a minimum ageing period of 2 years, which can also be in wooden barrels, commencing November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced. Botticino PDO cannot be released for consumption before June 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were harvested.
