Description of product typologies
Benaco Bresciano PGI Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pale straw-yellow to bright yellow; it is floral, fruity, reminiscent of white fruit, and delicate on the nose; it is dry to sweet on the palate, velvety and slightly fruity. It can also be a semi-sparkling wine. Benaco Bresciano PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby-red, corresponding to the grape variety; the nose is full, with characteristic fragrances of red fruit; it is dry and sapid on the palate, with good body. Benaco Bresciano PGI Passito Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is straw-yellow with golden reflections; it is intense on the nose with complex fruity notes; it is sweet, velvety and smooth on the palate. Benaco Bresciano PGI Novello, alone or with specification of grape variety, is bright ruby-red, with possible purplish reflections; its fragrance is fruity, pleasant and characteristic; it is pleasantly fresh and harmonious on the palate.
Grape variety specifications
The Benaco Bresciano PGI with the specification of one of the grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Lombardy region, is reserved for wines that are obtained from grapes originating from vineyards on the producer’s land made up of at least 85% of the corresponding grape variety. A maximum of 15% of similarly-coloured grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area can be used, pure or combined, to produce the above-mentioned musts and wines. Benaco Bresciano PGI wines with specification of grape variety must display the organoleptic properties of the specified grape variety, as well as the specific characteristics indicated for wines of the same colour.
