It can also be a semi-sparkling wine. Alto Livenza PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby-red with purple reflections when young (a year after harvesting), and this intensifies over time; it displays extremely complex fragrances on the nose, in which the grape variety’s character blends with fragrances of red fruit and hues of vanilla; it is characteristically sapid on the palate, with a rounded and mellow structure, supported by sweet and unaggressive tannins. It can also be a semi-sparkling or Novello wine. Alto Livenza PGI Rosé, alone or with specification of grape variety, has a pink colour reminiscent of onion skin; it displays typical fragrances on the nose, with scents of red fruit and graphite; it is fruity on the palate, well-balanced and light-bodied.
